United we are stronger. We want you to succeed, both physically and mentally. We believe that everyone has the capability to be the best version of themselves, regardless of their abilities. MAKO supports and donates to non-profit organizations leading the charge on strengthening and unifying special populations and their communities. Through programs, projects, courses, and events...these organizations strive to serve anyone looking to improve themselves each and everyday.
The Ability Experience, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1977 and remains the exclusive philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi with the purpose of instilling lifelong service in our fraternity members and serving people with disabilities. Far too often, people with disabilities are told what they can't do, be it in athletic pursuits, hobbies or careers. Open spaces that challenge these limits are key to personal growth and breaking down limitations. All people should have the right and opportunity to live their life to the fullest they desire.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health non-profit organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of people affected by mental illness. NAMI is a pioneer in peer education, giving people affected by mental illness a place to turn to find a strong network of support and the tools to reclaim their lives. Programs like NAMI Moves incorporate physical activity as an outlet for those affected by mental illness.
